Job Description:
Position: Home Child Care Provider
Job Type: 1-Year Contract, Full-time
Hourly Wage: $19
Benefits: 10 days paid vacation per year
Personal health insurance if you don’t have MSP
Work Hour: 30 hours per week (overtime may be required)
Work Location: 359 Ker Ave, Victoria, BC V9A 2B6
Language Requirement: English
We are a warm and caring family seeking a full-time, reliable, and loving Home Child Care Provider to assist with the daily care of our two children — a 3-year-old and a 7-month-old infant. Accommodation can be provided at no cost if needed, but living with us is not required.
Job Duties:
- Supervise and care for the children in the employer’s home
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
- Assist with diapering, dressing, and personal hygiene
- Maintain daily routines, including naps, meals, and playtime
- Organize activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development
- Accompany children to and from daycare or other activities as needed
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for the children
- Perform light housekeeping duties related to childcare
- Maintain open and regular communication with the employer
Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school is preferred
- Proven experience or demonstrated ability in childcare or early childhood education is required
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification is an asset
- A clear criminal record check is mandatory
- Fluency in English is required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, adaptable, and patient, with a caring and nurturing personality
