Job Description:
Position located in Rockville, MD
1. Perform marble construction and renovation church projects from inception to conclusion, including every stage of the process (planning, design, procurement of materials, client management, vendor and contractor management).
2. Procure marble and granite stone and manage/oversee their implementation throughout project scope; work with concrete specifications in order to achieve the specified finishings appropriate for church renovations and religious structures.
3. Develop project specifications and choice of materials, prepare drawings and construction documents in consultation with architects and clients.
4. Consult with clients on the choice of stone and layout most appropriate for the project.
5. Carry out the execution of the project to ensure quality control and resolve any issues on-site.
6. Manage budget costs, milestones, deadlines, target achievements and client requirements.
7. Manage and inspect the inventory of marble/granite slab imports upon arrival to the warehouse using Moraware software.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in church renovations, tomb constructions, religious structures utilizing marble materials (small chapels, marble statues, decorative religious projects).
- Minimum 4 years of substantive knowledge in sourcing and importing of Greek marbles and granite stones.
- Knowledge of production (cutting and marble gluing) techniques (such as the 45-degree mitered edge).
- Experience in carved marble (production and installation), as well as marble sculpturing to produce columns, statues, tomb structures, intricate construction of decoration in indoor and outdoor places of worship.
- Experience in interior decorating: creating and installing mosaics and mosaic hagiographies, marble carved icon and specialized constructions such as candelabras, iconostases, episcopal thrones, etc.
- Experience in exterior decorating: producing and installing marble decorative structures.
