Job Description:
The Akali Singh Sikh Society is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Granthi to join our vibrant community in Vancouver. The Granthi will be responsible for performing religious duties, including leading prayers, conducting ceremonies, and providing spiritual guidance to our members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and conduct religious services and ceremonies at the temple and within the community as required.
• Provide spiritual counseling and guidance to community members.
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanctity of the Gurdwara.
• Assist in the preparation and organization of religious events and festivals.
• Conduct regular Sikh religious services at society according to the faith.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Sikh religious practices and rituals.
• Strong understanding of Sikh scripture and theology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
• English and Punjabi are usually required.
Educational requirements:
• Educational requirements vary, depending on the religion and range from the completion of a college or other program in religious studies to a Master of Divinity degree
• A period of study with a senior minister is usually required.

Benefits:
• Competitive wage of $26.33 per hour.
• 30 hours of work per week.
• 10 days paid vacation annually.
