Must have excellent oral communication, flexibility, be organized, reliable and a team player
Specific Skills
Maintain work records and logs
Communicate with customers to arrange times for shipments and schedule deliveries
Monitor and keep track of all workloads and locations; oversee track of shipments
Advise truck drivers of traffic and other problems
Dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders
Knowledge of cross border dispatching regulations and practices
Understanding of highway trucking and associated rules and regulations
Utilize dispatching equipment including radios
Record mileage, fuel use, repairs and other expenses
Reviewing drivers logs, including dispatched calls and arrival times,
Schedule assignments and co-ordinate activities of truck drivers and equipment
Monitoring truck repairs and maintenance schedules,
