About the Hospital:
Cornwall Animal Hospital in Oakville, ON is a Veterinary hospital. A range of services are provided in the hospital like Radiology, In-house blood testing, General Surgery, Dentistry, Spay and Neutering and Vaccinations. We are seeking a qualified Veterinary Assistant to join our busy practice. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Oakville, ON.

Wages: $28.50 - $29.50 per hour

Job Responsibilities:
• Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery
• Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian
• Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian
• Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry
• Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
• Counsel clients on animal health care
• Conduct and assist in laboratory research
• Produce diagnostic radiographs, collect samples and perform other laboratory tests
• Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
Job Requirements:
• Completion of an accredited college degree/diploma in animal health/veterinary program.
• Experience as a Veterinary Assistant will be an asset
• Applicant must be fluent in English
