Job Description:
Job title: Orthopedic Surgeon - Specialist Physician NOC 31101
Position available: 2
Employer: Trucare Minor Injury and Sport Medicine Clinic Corp.
Location of employment:
1450 McPhillips St Winnipeg, MB, Canada R2V 3C5
Main tasks:
Examine patients and take their histories to diagnose injuries;
Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures and consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health
Diagnose conditions affecting the bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, tendons, and nerves
Interpreting diagnostic imaging, such as radiographs, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging to decide whether injury require surgery and, if not recommend non-surgical treatment
Provide different type of joint injections, US guided injections, triggered point injections,
Treat closed fracture with closed reduction in the office as well as casting if needed.
Provide office procedure as applicable.
Job requirements:
MBChB (Doctor of Medicine) from an accredited medical school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (with a Canada Note);
Be eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
Be eligible for certification by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba;
Prior experience practicing medicine as an orthopedic; ***Note: require at least 5 to 6 years of specialty residency training
Requires occupational designation of Medical Doctor - MD or MBChB.
Conditions:
The specialist physician will be paid on a Fee-for-Service basis.
Number of hours per week: Estimated weekly total will be 40 hours per week.
This is a Fee-for-Service position so it is up to the physician as to how many patients can be seen in a day and still practice medicine meeting high quality standards.
