Main tasks:
Evaluate patients through interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations, and psychological testing
Analyze the data and results of their assessments to diagnose patients.
Prescribe and administer medications based on their patients' diagnoses.
Develop treatment plans for their patients.
Evaluate the results of their patients' treatments.
Check their patients' physical health and the effects of their medication
Provide psychological treatments, such as psychotherapy or talking therapy.
Job requirements:
MBChB (Doctor of Medicine) from an accredited medical school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (with a Canada Note);
Be eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
Be eligible for certification by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba;
Prior experience practicing medicine as a psychiatrist; ***Note: require at least 5 years of specialty residency training
Requires occupational designation of Medical Doctor - MD or MBChB.
Conditions:
The general practitioner will be paid on a Fee-for-Service basis.
Number of hours per week: Estimated weekly total will be 40 hours per week.
This is a Fee-for-Service position so it is up to the physician as to how many patients can be seen in a day and still practice medicine meeting high quality standards.
