ABOUT THE POSITION
At this time, we are looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our team of professionals and assist the company with smooth and timely project completion. The chosen applicant should be ready to travel across the GTA, since all the work is performed on the client’s sites.
THE DUTIES IN THIS CAPACITY WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
• Read blueprints and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Determine the size and the amount of materials by taking measurements.
• Prepare materials by cutting and shaping them according to the requirements and measurements using hand and power tools.
• Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and doors frames.
• Conduct repair work and installation of doors and windows and other fixtures as required.
• Working with a team of windows and doors installers to complete projects in a timely manner.
• Ensure a neat and clean work environment, removing and disposing old materials as needed.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures including wearing proper PPE and ensuring that tools and equipment are clean, functional and safe at all times.
• Prepare cost estimates for clients as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Secondary School Diploma
• 1-2 years of carpenter experience
• Driver’s licence is an asset
• Good English skills
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
• This is a permanent full-time position, with scheduled weekdays shifts and occasional weekend shifts.
• $34.50 per hour for 30 to 40 hours of work per week
• Overtime pay applies after 44 hours of work per week
• Main office: 83 Rosemount Drive, Scarborough, Ontario, M1K 2X4. Please note that you will be
asked to travel to project sites.
