Position: Permanent Full-Time Bookkeeper
Number of Vacancies: 01

Wage Rate: $29.00 per hour (negotiable based on experience)
Hours: 30-40 hours per week

Job Requirements:
Education:
Completion of a secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required. Preference will be given to candidates with post-secondary education in accounting or a related field.
Experience:
A minimum of 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping or a related financial role is essential. Candidates with prior experience managing payroll and financial statements will be highly considered.
Language:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Both written and verbal communication skills will be assessed.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly:
MS Excel (ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets, perform data analysis)
MS Outlook (email communication and scheduling)
MS Word (document preparation and editing)
Other Skills:
Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Familiarity with computerized bookkeeping systems, such as QuickBooks or Sage, is a plus.

Job Duties:
As a Bookkeeper at Powerline Construction Ltd., your responsibilities will include:
Payroll Management:
Calculate and prepare payroll cheques for employees, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
Financial Record Keeping:
Establish, maintain, and balance various financial accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
General Ledger Maintenance:
Maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements that reflect the company’s current financial status.
Journal Entries:
Post journal entries for accurate accounting records and reconciliation.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare statistical, financial, and accounting reports as required by management or for compliance purposes.
Tax Preparation:
Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring adherence to local regulations and deadlines.
Trial Balance Preparation:
Prepare the trial balance of books, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and balanced.

Work Setting:
This position requires the candidate to be available for full-time daytime work in an office setting.
