Job Description:
• Understanding current business goals and trading deals then applying statistical techniques and broad knowledge of the industry on load forecasting, market forecasting and price simulation and developing predictive resource planning models that optimize the utilization of resources with minimum cost.
• Integrating assumptions and data in resources, energy market, transmission system, region regulations, trades, and load customers into modeling and transferring conceptual model analysis into indicative results to support trading strategies, procurement decisions, and pricing optimization.
• Developing automation and computerization of model execution, output processing, analytics, and reporting process in Python to provide efficient analytic support to cross-functional teams.
• Mining and analyzing data pertaining to markets and designing statistical models to assess potential market risks related to market volatility and regulatory compliance and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Querying relational database (SQL).
• Building and maintaining processes to pull & integrate data from various sources.
• Creating insightful visualizations and reports using tools such as ggplot2, matplotlib, and seaborn in R and Python to communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders including senior management and executives.
Job Requirements:
- MS degree in Statistics, Mathematical Finance, or related quantitative field.
- Knowledge of Linear Regression Models, Statistical Machine Learning, Advanced Data Analysis, Time Series Analysis, and Applied Data Science.
- Skills in R programming, Data visualization, Exploratory data analysis, Statistical data analysis, Regression modeling and analysis, and Time series modeling and analysis.
