This mission is infused in everything we do - including how we develop, market and sell out products The Marketing Sales Communications leader is an important role that will help expand our sales team's ability to reach, influence and support the sale of Blue Shield products, plans, programs and services primarily in the business to business space. We are looking for an energetic and innovative marketer who can work closely with sales, creative, product, research and other internal groups to develop sales programs that clearly demonstrate our value to our customers.
In this role you will be tasked with innovating on operational workflows as well as developing new processes with an eye towards technology-enabled scalability. This is a great opportunity to hone your skill set and evolve within our growing organization
As part of the San Francisco-based, strategic marketing team, this role will drive initiatives that support acquisition and retention activities.
The program marketer will collaborate closely with internal teams and external customers to develop highly-targeted and unique marketing materials that engage primarily customer segments and support personal selling.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing professional with excellent communication skills to accelerate business growth. Ideally suited for a creative problem-solver with proven project management expertise.
The role reports to the Senior Marketing Manager, Core Accounts and Premier Acquisition.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead development and execution of strategic, multi-channel, campaigns that drive product sales and membership growth, primarily targeting B2B segments with some B2C segments.
- Create promotional, educational and operational online tools that support the customer journey through a complex sales process.
- Leverage current and new communication channels including social media to engage audiences, address barriers and boost product consideration and quoting.

Innovate and project-manage strategic programs to support key growth initiatives (including product launch) by collaborating in cross-functional teams to map market needs to product design features.

Partner with internal marketing teams for development and deployment of campaign assets to plan (time and budget). Track and report on performance metrics.

Ongoing management and annual update of existing product marketing materials

Play a key leadership role in the annual planning process contributing research and critical thinking to recommend strategies for marketing programs aligned with Sales and Product. Work in collaboration with business partners for effective dissemination of the plan, prioritization of individual projects, allocation of resources, and project manage execution with reporting on performance against plan.

Develop and be accountable for execution of specialized marketing project plans and steps to ensure they support new sales objectives.

Participate in budget management. Ensure projects are managed within budgets and on time.

Establish working relationships with key individuals from the relevant business sectors within Blue Shield.
- Partner with the Core Accounts and Premier Accounts Acquisition teams to develop and maintain a strong knowledge of the sales and account management process
- Partner with Market Insights team to maintain a strong knowledge of industry trends and competitive solutions.

Minimum skills, knowledge, and ability requirements: - Proven success in meeting campaign and program goals and objectives, timelines and budgets.
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent collaborative, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with external partners and internal colleagues across the organization to overcome challenges and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
- Extreme attention to detail and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
- Strong work ethic; positive attitude; can function as a team player and work independently.
- Excellent computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, SharePoint)
Qualifications:
Experience and educational requirements:
- BA/BS in a related field such as marketing or business and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. An MBA is preferred, not required.
- Knowledge and experience of Health Insurance is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of marketing experience; B to B preferred.
