Description:



Blue Shield of California's Leadership and Organizational Development team focuses on programs that develop great leaders from within. We also own the employee engagement strategy and execute the measurement that tells us how we are doing to achieve our goal of becoming a great place to work. As the Leadership & Organizational Development Consultant, Employee Engagement you will be focused on all aspects of deploying, action planning and analyzing the results of our annual employee engagement survey.

Your work in the Human Resources/Internal Communications department will be one of partnership with HR Business Partners, Internal Communications and Business Leaders to achieve our strategic goal of enabling Blue Shield of California to be a great workplace.

You have experience in project management, employee engagement, can influence stakeholders and lead vendor relationships. You build trust with cross-functional partners at multiple levels, you collaborate with the team, embrace diversity and inclusion and get sustainable results the right way.


Job Functions:
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify, design, develop, implement, and enhance employee engagement processes, practices, tools and technologies, including survey strategies, annual benchmarking survey execution, company-wide action planning, and leader education on employee engagement.
  • Contribute thought leadership by integrating research on best practices, formal training and applied experience in human resources to business opportunities at Blue Shield.
  • Understand the voice of the employee and partner with Internal Communications to conduct employee focus groups to capture the concerns of employees and recommend solutions, design processes and opportunities with the employee in mind.
  • Build and maintain relationships with HR Business Partners and key internal clients to support effective sharing of research insights, survey results data, and analytics with the business.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and internal Blue Shield teams and project manage the review of vendors that provide consulting/professional services or technology solutions (including initiating and driving the review by Blue Shield of California IT, contracting, sourcing, and legal teams).
  • Drive on-time, on-target, and on-budget implementation of programs, project and initiatives; keeping all relevant parties apprised of developments, progress and other key information with the highest confidentiality.
  • Take responsibility for working on an organizational system to improve it; you communicate, collaborate, and integrate efficiently and effectively on multiple objectives and priorities.





Qualifications:



Job Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in a related discipline from an accredited university required
  • Master's degree in related field (such as Industrial / Organizational Psychology; Organizational Science; Organizational Behavior; Organizational Development) highly preferred
  • 3-5 years of related professional experience required

Additional Education/Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience designing and implementing employee engagement measures
  • Experience managing complex projects with aggressive timelines; demonstrated ability to be organized, meet deadlines, and keep everyone informed of project status in a proactive way.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities with the ability to drive for results.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into flawless execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring creative and innovative thought to established practices, programs and processes.
  • Experience working with quantitative and qualitative data; deriving the "so what" from the findings and have the numbers tell a compelling, accurate, and relevant story.
  • Passion for learning and self-development with a preference for working within a consistently dynamic business environment.
  • Work well independently, escalating risks and dependencies promptly.
  • An effective collaborator who builds strong relationships and shares accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment.
