Job Description:
LEAD JUDO MARTIAL ARTS INSTRUCTOR

DCS Fitness and Martial Arts Ltd. dba Diaz Combat Sports is a leading martial arts training club providing training in Muay Thai kickboxing, boxing, Jiujitsu, mixed martial arts (MMA) and combat conditioning.
DCS Fitness and Martial Arts Ltd. is seeking candidates for placement as a Lead Judo Martial Arts Instructor. This position reports to the Lead Martial Arts Instructor and is responsible for the Judo program. There is one position available.
This is a full-time permanent position with responsibilities for instructing and training club members and assisting the training of club team fighters in national and international competitions.
The location of employment is Vancouver, B.C., with national and international travel required as necessary for Club events. The language of work is English.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position responsibilities include;
• Providing instruction and training in Judo to gym clients and club fighters
• Participate in planning and delivery of instruction and training activities for the Judo program
• Participate in the planning and delivery of safety rules and practices
• Schedule activities and maintain records and report as required by Lead Martial Arts Instructor
• Traveling with club fighters as assistant trainer
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Candidates must have demonstrated ability in Judo, demonstrated competition experience at a high level (national or international competition level preferred) and demonstrated experience with instruction and training, including:
• Minimum 10 years history of involvement in Judo, including a minimum 1 year Judo competition experience at a high level of competition (national and international experience preferred)
• Minimum 5 years Judo instruction/training experience
English language ability sufficient for instruction purposes is required. The Salary is $60,320.00 annually based on a 40-hour work week ($29.00 hourly).
Benefits include vacation/overtime as per BC employment law and travel costs and expenses as necessary for duties related to club travel.
