Job Description: Location: 8138 Granville St, Vancouver, BC V6P 4Z4 Hours: 35 hours per week Benefits: Extended Medical Insurance, Dental, Vision
Job Duties: As a Medical Clinic Assistant, you will be responsible for various clinical tasks to ensure the well-being of our patients. These duties include: • Checking blood pressure (BP) • Assisting in PAP tests • Performing urine dipstick tests • Conducting pregnancy tests • Filling liquid nitrogen containers • Preparing Dextrose 5% syringes • Checking vaccines • Measuring newborns' height, weight, and head circumference • Preparing needles for vaccinations/Trigger Point Injections (TPI)
In addition to clinical duties, you will handle several administrative responsibilities to maintain smooth clinic operations. These include: • Completing ICBC/WCB forms and insurance company Dynacare APS (Attending Physicians Statement) • Organizing and sending faxes to doctors • Contacting patients for follow-up appointments (TCI) • Creating lab requisitions • Checking MSP eligibility for patients • Provide training and assistance to other Medical Office Assistants with administrative tasks
Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the clinic is also essential. You will be responsible for: • Sterilizing all tools • Ordering supplies, such as swabs from LifeLab
Job Requirements: Qualifications: • Experience: At least 1 year of previous on-job training or direct related work experience required to perform the job duties effectively. • Education: Completion of secondary school; • Skills: Proficiency in clinical tasks such as checking blood pressure, assisting in PAP tests, and performing urine dipstick tests. • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with medical software and electronic health records (EHR) systems for organizing patient information and checking MSP eligibility. • Communication: Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, completing forms, organizing emails and documents, and managing follow-up appointments.
