Job Description:
CYVBC Surge is looking to grow our club, so we will need to grow our coaching staff!
We will have openings at the National and American levels! We have assistant openings at the National level, and both head and assistant openings at the American level.
We start at $13 an hour, and we are one of the higher paying clubs in the area since you are clocking in rather than receiving a stipend! Coaches are able to get paid for every minute they are coaching, as well as gain more hours at clinics, trainings, agilities, driving, other team practices, and more! You also get paid every two weeks, as well as a membership to both the Clippard and Gamble-Nippert YMCA’s.
Role of a CYVBC club volleyball coach:
Supervise players during practice. (Also any clinics and camps)
Help run skills clinics on both Saturday nights and Sunday mornings throughout the club season (only have to attend one per month)
The practice schedule is semi-flexible. We organize the times with the YMCA, then will coordinate any potential conflicts with coaches.
You will be provided with the foundation and support that is needed for you and your team to grow. CYVBC Surge is a very welcoming community, but we do hold high expectations for our coaches. Different expectations at different levels of play: Regional, American, National-Lite, National
You will be given the flexibility to coach and run practices for what is specifically best for you and your team while still aligning with CYVBC Surge’s strategies and beliefs.
You will work with our athletes to help improve their skills and performance. This will involve running drills, leading conditioning exercises, or providing instruction on in-game strategy as well as some team bonding activities.

Applicant Expectations:
1 year of volleyball coaching experience at youth, middle school, club or high school required for all Regional teams
2 years of volleyball coaching experience at youth, club and/or high school required for all American teams
3 years of volleyball coaching experience at club and/or high school required for all National teams
Must be passionate about the sport and training youth players, and willing to learn!
Must be able to pass a background screening, attend required training, and complete required certifications from USAV, OVR, and YMCA.
Number of weekly hours will vary based on tournaments/practices. Coaches clock-in for all practices, clock-in for the drive to all tournaments, and clock-in for all play and work assignments at tournaments (so that rather than a stipend, you are getting paid for every minute you are coaching)
