Job Description: Civil Litigation Attorneys, don’t miss this opportunity! Placer County Counsel’s Office is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to assist in providing legal advice to the County Board of Supervisors, independent elected officials, departments, some joint power authorities and certain special districts, and acts as a trial advocate in housing litigation.
The litigation team handles all facets of public entity civil litigation defense in the areas of land use and planning, labor and employment, public works, personal injury, dangerous conditions, constitutional questions, environmental litigation (CEQA), real property disputes, taxation and assessment issues, public contract and procurement litigation, and law enforcement defense.
The successful applicant can expect to handle civil cases from the beginning to end. You will be doing everything from pleadings, discovery, law and motion, trials, administrative hearings, and civil appeals. You will handle interesting, challenging and sometimes newsworthy cases. Job Requirements: For this position, we prefer 2-4 years of experience in civil litigation, including writs. Experience in the following areas of law is preferred: dangerous conditions, construction defect, employment, excessive force, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the State Planning and Zoning Law.
