Job Duties:
The role requires a solid understanding of automotive systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to use various tools and diagnostic equipment.
● Promotes dealership by presenting professional image, positive attitude, and clean work area
● Road tests vehicles to ensure repairs are completed properly
● Suggests additional work that is needed to the Service Advisor or Shop Foreman so the customer may be
notified.
● Completes service and repair assignments correctly, to pass quality inspections or test drives
● Collects all necessary information before requesting parts (e.g., model year, etc.)
● Maintains sufficient personally-owned tools; keeps tools in good working order
● Notifies shop foreman and service advisor if delays are expected
● Maintains cleanliness of the customer's vehicle
● Submits all claims promptly, has an approachable style
● Promotes a productive working relationship with others
● Actively listens to concerns; takes action to respond to others’ needs
● Provides clear and legible record of service completed for both customer and dealership use
● Assists Service Advisors, if necessary, to explain completed repairs to a customer
● Assists other technicians when needed.
Skills Required:
● Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail
● Troubleshooting, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
● Organized and reliable
● Strong work ethic, professional attitude
● Ability to work individually and as part of a team
● Time management
● Must be able to obtain trade certification if needed
Experience Required:
● 3 to 5 years of experience (preference is given to dealer (especially Ford specialty) experience and ambulance repair qualification)
Education Required:
● High school graduation certificate.
● Mechanical certification or course completion is an asset.
Wage & Hours: $35.00 per hour
● Number of hours per day: 8
● Number of days per week: 5
● Number of hours per week: 40
● Overtime starts after how many hours: 40
