Job Description:

Sr. Physical Therapist is needed to perform the following duties:

o Provide skilled physical therapy services to patients in their residences on an intermittent basis or clinic.
o Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and administer physical therapy interventions in their residences on an intermittent basis if required.
o Assess a child’s developmental milestones, including motor and cognitive functions, mobility, muscle tone, joint range of motion, balance, coordination, sensory processing, orthopedic conditions, communication skills, and social interactions. They also evaluate the need for adaptive equipment and consider family dynamics and caregiver support to develop tailored treatment plans promoting the child’s optimal development and functional independence.
o Plan, prepare, or carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
o Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
o Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
o Test and measure patient's strength, motor development and function, sensory perception, functional capacity, or respiratory or circulatory efficiency and record data.
o Review physician's referral and patient's medical records to help determine diagnosis and physical therapy treatment required.
o Obtain patients' informed consent to proposed interventions.
o Administer physical therapy treatments by giving massages, manual therapy, strengthening and stretching exercise, applying physical agents like moist packs, TENS, electric stimulation, and ultrasound machines, directing treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.
o Record prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enter information into computer.
o Inform patients and refer to appropriate practitioners when diagnosis reveals findings outside physical therapy.
o Discharge patients from physical therapy when goals or projected outcomes have been attained and provide for appropriate follow-up care or referrals.
o Advise the patient and family about in-home treatment options and exercises.
o Maintain patient confidence and protect medical records by keeping information confidential.
o Supervise and manage other physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and support staff within the department. Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to team members. Coordinate work schedules and assignments for the team.
o Review patient cases and treatment plans to ensure high-quality care and adherence to best practices.
o Assist in complex patient cases or those requiring specialized expertise. Provide input on treatment strategies and modifications based on patient progress.
o Contribute to the development and implementation of new programs, services, or specialized clinics within the department. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
o Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and department efficiency.
o Monitor and analyze clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction data to identify areas for improvement.
o Provide training and education to staff on new treatment techniques, protocols, and best practices. Organize and facilitate workshops, in-services, or training sessions for staff development.
o Review and ensure accurate and thorough documentation of patient evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans. Address any documentation issues and provide guidance to staff on proper documentation practices.
o Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment plans.
o Contribute to the development and updating of departmental policies and procedures. Ensure that staff members are aware of and follow established protocols.
o Assist in managing department resources, including equipment, supplies, and staffing. Monitor budget and expenses related to the physical therapy department.
o Stay updated with the latest advancements in physical therapy through continuing education and professional development. Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars to enhance knowledge and skills.

Bachelor’s degree is required in Physical Therapy or Physiotherapy
