Job Description:
• Assist in developing programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards.
• Assist in development of standards, health, and safety measures.
• Compile records and interpret experimental or analytical results.
• Conduct safety training programs.
• Sample products, perform tests and record data.
• Inspect finished and pre-finished products.
• Inspect and evaluate material and equipment for compliance to standards.
• Develop and conduct production, inventory, and quality assurance programs.
• Conduct routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
• Check and monitor product quality.
• Monitor reaction processes and transfers of products in conformance with safety procedures.
• Develop and conduct programs of analysis to ensure quality control of raw materials, chemical intermediates, or final products.
• Conduct quality control assessment of testing techniques.
• Compile records from daily production batches of all coffee packing lines.
• Assist in development of standards and food safety measures, including quality coffee standards and requirements.
• Develop and conduct programs of sampling and analysis.
• Conduct food safety training and coffee evaluation programs.
• Verify product formulation, process quality and food safety.
• Confirm coffee categories and apply the necessary calculations in the blends.
• Assessment of incoming raw materials against standards and reviewed imported products documentation.
• Verify coffee deliveries and the contract documentation associated with the coffee lot, including certificates and weight check of particular coffee category.
• Inspect green coffee in lab conditions using coffee equipment and evaluating the samples through green coffee assessment criteria, roasting and cupping the samples.
• Receive the green coffee and packaging documentation in inventory program, update the serial numbers, lot numbers and quantities.
• Inspection of finished products to confirm that correct packaging and labels were utilized, including correct SKU number for product identification as per internal classification of products and blends.
• Fill out the export documentation required for shipments out of Canada according to CFIA and Organic regime legislations.
• Collect samples and conduct product laboratory testing (Moisture analysis, Sensory evaluation, Agtron measurements etc.)
• Cupping and assessment of roasted coffee samples as per SCA guideline.
• Determine rework qualities and quantities based on blend colour and components.
• Investigate customer complaints, identifying non-compliance areas and coordinating corrective actions. Maintain food safety and non-food safety complaints files separately.
• Participate and prepare documentation during FSSC 22000, Organic, Kosher and Halal audits.
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Prepare written procedures in compliance with GMP, GFSI, Organic, Kosher and Halal standards.
• Maintain product codes and formulas in inventory program and in Coffee inventory files.
• Collect and prepare inventory documentation for monthly, quarterly and annually production inventories, including all green coffee single origins, packaging materials, labels and miscellanies’.
• Issue COA, product specification, Customer documentation, including co-packing material balance of green coffee, packaging and final product withdrawal, and other company documents regarding food safety and quality.
