Duties:
Strategic Planning: Contributing to the development of the company's long-term business strategy, including expansion plans, acquisitions, and diversification efforts. Business Development and Sales Strategy: Developing and executing a comprehensive sales and business development strategy to identify new opportunities, expanding the customer base, and growing the company's revenue. Market Analysis: Staying informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and customer needs to identify growth areas and target markets for the aerospace services. Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential customers, including major aerospace manufacturers, and their respective sub-tiers, and other relevant stakeholders. Product and Service Offerings: Working with cross-functional teams to enhance existing aerospace services and developing new offerings to meet customer demands, compliance standards, and technological advancements as well as expanding our margins. Pricing and Contract Negotiation: Developing pricing strategies and leading negotiations for contracts, ensuring that they meet or exceed our profitability, competitiveness, and are aligned with the company's goals. Sales Team Management: Recruiting, training, and managing a high-performing sales team, including managers, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluation to achieve sales targets and objectives. Marketing and Promotion: Collaborating with the marketing department to create marketing materials, campaigns, and promotional activities to enhance the company's visibility and reputation in the aerospace industry. Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data and metrics to track and evaluate sales performance, revenue growth, and profitability. Making data-driven decisions to optimize results. Compliance and Regulations: Ensuring that all commercial activities, contracts, and agreements comply with industry regulations, standards, and legal requirements. Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with commercial operations and contracts, such as legal, financial, and operational risks. Reporting and Communication: Regularly reporting to senior management and stakeholders on the commercial department's performance, market insights, and progress toward achieving strategic goals. IT Strategy Development: o Developing and implementing a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the company's business goals. o Identifying and recommending technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness. IT Infrastructure Management: o Overseeing the maintenance, configuration, and deployment of the company's IT systems, including servers, networks, and workstations. o Ensuring data security, integrity, and availability through the implementation of robust cybersecurity measures.
Job Requirements: Requirements:
A Bachelor of Engineering degree in aerospace, aviation-related, or other relevant field is required. Master of Engineering degree is preferred. 7-10 years of experience in progressively senior leadership roles within the aviation and/or aerospace industry is required, preferably in a multi-organizational context and in an environment of constant change and evolution. Prior experience in operating multi-site, multi-function special process and manufacturing facilities. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) experience is an asset. Demonstrated Understanding of AS9100/NADCAP/Transport Canada quality system requirements. Expert communication and writing skills with a focus on technical and creative attributes to develop winning strategies and capture management plans Expert deal strategy and negotiation skills Strong leadership and negotiation skills Possesses a strategic mindset and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key industry players is an asset. Demonstrated experience in an export compliance environment preferably in leadership role/compliance officer (EAR/ITAR, Canadian Controlled Goods, European Union).
