If this describes you, we want you to join us in the Shield Emerging Leaders program (SEL).
The SEL is a two-year rotational program designed to showcase the diversity and complexities in our industry, as well as to grow the next generation of Blue Shield leaders from within. As a participant in the SEL, you will rotate through multiple business units in roles driving our most critical projects. Depending on both business need and your strengths and experience, your rotations will touch one or more of the following lines of business:
• Corporate (HR, Finance, External Affairs)
• Customer Experience
• Health Care Quality and Affordability
• Information Technology
• Markets (Sales and Marketing)
In addition to your rotations, you will participate in a structured program that includes self-assessment and reflection, 360 degree feedback, Blue Shield's leadership development curriculum, and other experiences to grow your industry knowledge, business acumen, and leadership foundation.
Does this sound like the right program for you? To be considered, you must have completed a Master's degree program within the past year. You regularly demonstrate learning agility and quickly come up to speed in a fast-paced business environment. Collaboration is second nature for you, as is getting superior results while staying true to your personal values.
You must also be willing to relocate as part of the different rotations to Blue Shield's operating locations in California (e.g., San Francisco Bay Area, greater Los Angeles, and/or the greater Sacramento area).
Lastly, you should be passionate -about our mission to provide high quality healthcare at an affordable price for all Californians, about continuously learning, and about co-creating the future of healthcare.
Qualifications:
Candidate Profile:
• Completed a Master's degree at an accredited university in a relevant discipline within the year prior to August 1, 2017
• 3-6 years of work experience (supervisory a plus)
• Mission-driven, with a strong desire to contribute to something greater than yourself
• Aspiration to grow your career at an accelerated pace
• Demonstrated learning agility
• Track record of getting high-quality results in a complex and fast-paced environment, while demonstrating interpersonal awareness and management
• Collaborate well on complex projects
• Background and/or emphasis in one of more key business areas:
o Sales/Marketing
o Health care (e.g., quality, clinical, pharmacy, public health)
o Information Technology (software, hardware, enterprise architecture)
o Customer Experience
o Finance
o General business
