Job Description:
Heritage Painting & Decorating is seeking a Painters and Decorators Supervisor (TEER 72014) for Greater Vancouver area. It is a full-time, permanent position, 30-40 hours/week, up to $32.00-35.00/hourly (depending on experience). Vacation 4%. Sorry, we do not offer any benefits. Starting date as soon as possible.
As a Painters and Decorators Supervisor, you will be expected to perform the following duties:
• Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of workers engaged in painting and decorating.
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other subcontractors.
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
• Requisition materials and supplies.
• Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
• Recommend personnel actions such as hirings and promotions.
• Prepare work progress reports.
• Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of related apprentices, helpers and labourers.
Job Requirements:
Requirements:
• Must have experience with decorative finishes like venetian stucco, distressed wood, polished concrete and tadelakt plaster.
• Must have experience with restoration of historical and heritage interiors and fixtures.
• Must have at least 5 years of staining experience including stain matching and restoration of exotic lumber (teak, mahogany, ironwood).
• Must be able to work in heights.
• Must have completed high school or equivalent.
• Must have excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize.
• Must be able to handle stress and work in a very fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional in difficult situations.
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
• Must be able to lead the team of minimum 5-10 people.
• Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.
• Must be able to provide at least one professional reference upon request.
