Description: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer with specialized experience in motor or generator design. In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing electrical components, particularly motors or generators, from initial concept through to production.
Job detail: Specifically looking for an Electric Motor/generator engineer or generator specialist, generator project leader with experience in 13.8 kV and Above stator rewinds.
Must be able to take data and design and approve stator coils and bars.
Air and Hydrogen cooled rotor rewinds, to include insulation design.
Must be proficient in AUTOCAD AND SOLIDWORKS
Bilingual English and SPANISH
Experience in all motor and generator insulation testing.
Responsibilities:
Designing and developing electrical components, focusing on motors or generators, according to project requirements and specifications. Conducting feasibility studies, simulations, and analyses to determine the best design approach and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical components into overall system designs. Creating and reviewing technical documentation, including schematics, drawings, and specifications, to communicate design concepts and requirements effectively. Testing and evaluating prototypes to verify performance, reliability, and adherence to design objectives. Identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement in existing designs, processes, and methodologies. Staying updated on industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies related to electrical engineering and motor/generator design.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred. Must be able to communicate in English & Spanish. Proven experience in electrical design, with a focus on motor or generator design. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink). Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including electromagnetism, power systems, and control theory. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to motor/generator design and safety (e.g., IEEE, IEC). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with project management and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with specific motor or generator technologies (e.g., brushless DC motors, synchronous generators). Knowledge of thermal analysis and thermal management techniques in electrical design. Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for reliability (DFR) principles. Experience with regulatory compliance testing and certification processes.
