Title: Early Childhood Educator(NOC: 42202)
Wage: $19.67 ~ $26.34 per hour
Work Hours: 30 - 40 hours per week
Vacation: remuneration - 4% of gross salary
Benefits: Extended Medical Insurance (We provide it at 60% cost to the foreign worker until such time as the worker is eligible for applicable provincial health insurance, but the foreign worker will be eligible after 3 months of employment with us.)

• Job Duties
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children;
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest;
- Provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity;
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits;
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children;
- Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members;
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children;
- Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties;
- Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records;
- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children;
- Knowledge of Daycare Act; Knowledge of licensing regulations
Job Requirements:
• Experience: Experience an asset

Languages: English
Education: Minimum College Diploma of 1 year to 2 years
Credentials:
- Nova Scotia Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
- Emergency child care First Aid and CPR
Security and Safety: Child abuse registry check; Vulnerable sector check
