Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Computer Network Technician to join our team
Position: Computer Network Technician
Location: Surrey, BC
Application Deadline: Until position is filled
Job Details: $30.00/hr @ 35 hrs/week
Job Type- Full-time and Permanent
Job Description: As a Computer Network Technician, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our computer network infrastructure. Working closely with the IT team, faculty, and staff, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless network operations, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and supporting various technological initiatives.
Your primary duties will include: Configuring and maintaining network equipment, including switches, routers, and wireless access points. Monitoring network performance and security, identifying and resolving issues proactively. Installing and upgrading network software and hardware components. Collaborating with IT staff to ensure efficient connectivity for educational technology and online learning platforms. Assisting in the setup and maintenance of audio-visual equipment for classes and events. Conducting routine network audits and documenting network configurations and changes. Providing technical support to faculty, staff, and student users for network-related inquiries.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field Proven work experience as a Computer Network Technician or in a similar role. In-depth knowledge of network protocols and architectures. Hands-on experience with network equipment and tools. Familiarity with network security principles and best practices. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot network issues. A proactive approach to identify potential network improvements and optimizations.
