Job Summary
The Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic designs at the board level. The work involves close interaction with a cross functional team, other hardware, Firmware and Software systems.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Perform detailed analysis and propose design solutions to meet project specs and objectives.
* Work in a cross functional environment (electrical, firmware, mechanical, software, and manufacturing) to coordinate Design interfaces and requirements at the board level.
* Design board schematics including CPLDs and FPGAs for real time I/Os.
* Create and document design using company’s tools and processes.
* Hands-on testing and verification to ensure that design meet requirements at subsystem and system level.
* Create PCA (Printed Circuit Assembly) documentation for manufacturing and collaborate with reliability and supply supply chain to deliver high reliability manufacturable product.
* Participate in creation and presentation of design reviews.
* May serve as a design/project lead and coordinate between different disciplines.
* May also work and manage subcontractors to support product development.
* Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. Other duties may be assigned as required.
Education and Experience Requirements
* Requires BS EE or MS degree and 7 or more years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills and Abilities
* 5+ Years of experience in automation industry or similar is a plus.
* 7 + Years Design/Drafting with Altium Designer
* Design experience of analog / digital circuitry for motor/motion control is a plus
* 5+ years of RTL experience (Glue Logic, SerDes, FIFO and Memory management )
* 5+ years Verilog experience (small to medium scale CPLD, FPGA, Zynq, Xilinx, Lattice experience)
* Familiar with design tools like Vivado, ISE , Lattice Diamond, ModelSim,Solidworks Electrical, Matlab.
* Familiar with various DC/AC , DC/DC and Step motors fundamentals.
* Familiar sensors , cable/ harness design, Industry Standards CE and SEMI.
* Experience and skill in troubleshooting electronics and use of lab equipment such as O’scopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.
* 3+ Years of experience with technical project leadership.
* Must be a self-starter, team player, work well with others and have a positive attitude.
* Must be a creative thinker, results oriented, focused, and attentive to detail and accuracy.
* Must have ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
* Strong, positive interpersonal skills
* Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong organizational skills, and a positive attitude
Compensation
Salary range for this position is: $152,000 to $174,000.
The base salary pay range for this job level is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, business considerations, and local market conditions, as well as candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, and skills.
