HYG designs, manufactures, sells and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally under the Hyster and Yale brand names. The Greenville, NC campus includes the headquarters facility for North and South America, the manufacturing plant and the Warehouse Product Development Center (WPDC). WPDC is focused on the design of electrically powered warehouse vehicles.

HYGis looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the WPDC Test Operations team. You will be part of a matrix organization with flexible work assignments and will play an important role in physical testing of lift truck products. The focus of the role is to assure that products are fully tested prior to being put into production, to help resolve customer functional issues and plant quality issues. This role directly impacts the success of the company by reducing warranty costs, improving plant productivity, and increasing customer satisfaction. You can expect to work directly with the design engineers and our manufacturing team to resolve issues and implement improvements in a rapid fashion.   • Designs test procedures to verify truck, system and component performance based on stated requirements.

  • Designs test fixtures using 3-D CAD program.

  • Designs control systems for test fixtures.

  • Specifies data acquisition sensors & sampling rates for use in testing.

  • Applies statistical methods for determining sample sizes for durability testing.

  • Supervises construction of test equipment.

  • Supervises conduct of responsible tests.

  • Conducts data analysis and reports results.

  • Prepares formal reports of test results.

  • Mentors and coaches technicians in use of various test tools.

  • Assists in management of test engineering tools and facilities.

  • Proposes & develops improvements to testing processes, facilities and procedures.

Qualifications - General

  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering is field required. BSME, BSEE, BSMET or BSEET preferred.

  • Engineer II - a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.

  • Engineer III - a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience.

  • Engineer IV - a minimum of 7 years relevant work experience.

  • Position will be commensurate with experience and capabilities.

  • Experience working with mobile industrial equipment (materials handling, automotive, construction, agricultural or similar) is highly desirable.

  • Working knowledge of electrically powered vehicles is desirable.

  • Knowledge of CAN-based control systems is desirable.

  • Experience using a 3D solids-based CAD program is desired. Siemens NX is preferred.

  • Knowledge of engineering statistics is desirable.

  • Six Sigma training (DMAIC or DFSS) is desirable.

  • Experience with data collection hardware and analysis software is desirable.

  • Experience in programming PLC controllers is desirable.

  • Experience in software coding in C++, Python or similar languages is desirable.

  • Must possess excellent written, verbal & presentation communication skills.

  • Must be a team-oriented individual with hands-on, flexible attitude.

  • Must be able to work independently, engaging others as needed to achieve results.

  • Must be able to follow established procedures and be attentive to details to ensure accuracy and completeness of testing.

  • Must exhibit good judgment and realistic understanding of issues.

  • Must demonstrate ability & willingness to take decisive actions to achieve results.
