Job Description:
Mangat Enterprises Inc. dba Killarney Animal Hospital is looking to hire a highly motivated professional to fill a full-time Permanent Veterinary Technician Position who can support the Veterinarians by caring for animals and assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of animal health. The Veterinary Technician should be able to collect samples and assist the veterinarian before and during surgery and care for the animal post surgery. Should have an excellent attention to detail and should be able to understand the basic requirement of every treatment given to animals at the hospital.
Position – Veterinary Technician
Location – 2649 E 49th Ave, Vancouver. BC. V5S 1J9
Start date: As Soon as Possible
Wages: $26.50/hour
Working hours: 40/week
Overtime: $39.75/hour after 40 hours a week
Benefits: 4% Vacation pay
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery.
• Assist veterinarian before, during and after the surgery.
• Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of the Veterinarian.
• Administer treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
• Counsel clients on animal health care.
• Produce diagnostic radiographs, collect samples, and perform other laboratory tests.
• Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals.
• Provide wound and bandage care.

Job Requirements:
Requirements:
• College, CEGEP or other certificate or diploma of 2-3 years of Veterinary Science or animal health
• Proactive and self-motivated
• Continuous learner, highly analytical, with good conceptual and critical thinking skills
• Experience of 1-2 years in administration of a similar work place
• Basic knowledge of health & Healing is an asset
