Job Description:
Compounding Chemist is needed to perform the following duties:
Development of Liquid dosage forms as per FDA guidelines.
Process Improvement, Cost reduction and troubleshooting.
Use knowledge about ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes and DUR overrides to provide best possible service to patients/clients.
Maintain proper documentation associated with ingredients (with quantity)
Method of preparation and review of analytical specifications,
Mix and weigh ingredients according to the Doctors office instructions.
Compound Topical Preparation, including Compliance
Packaging for Rx medications for patient convenience with proper formulation techniques.
Calibrates and maintains laboratory instruments such as weighing balance,
Apparatus such as mortar-pestle, measuring cylinder, spatula etc.
Literature research for specifications on stability and compatibility.
Method of compound preparation such as Geometric dilution,
Aliquot method etc (e.g. pediatric dosage form handbook, facts and comparison, USP etc).
Counseling patients for the intended use, self-administration and precautions of the compound dosage form.
Manage supplier overhead, efficiency gains and recommendations of future partners.
Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
