Job Description:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Environmental Studies, Geography, Geology, Geoscience, GIS, Mathematics, Planning, or a related physical or social science field.

  • Four (4) years of job-related experience may be substituted for the education requirement.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Geographic Information System (GIS) and related software tools.

  • Preferred advanced experience using ESRI Aeronautical Reconnaissance Coverage Geographic Information System (ArcGIS) 10 x Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and related geospatial software tools.

  • Experience working in a versioned GIS environment and handling spatial data from various sources.

  • Certification in Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) or Environmental Systems Research Incorporated (ESRI) is highly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of GPS technology and its integration within GIS systems.


  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver results in a timely manner.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


Responsibilities:



  • Create, manipulate, and maintain spatial data from diverse sources using ESRI Aeronautical Reconnaissance Coverage Geographic Information System (ArcGIS) 10 x Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and other relevant geospatial software tools.

  • Perform in-depth spatial analysis to support various projects, including environmental assessments, planning initiatives, and geospatial research.

  • Utilize Global Positioning Systems (GPS) technology for field data collection and seamlessly integrate GPS data within the GIS system.

  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of GIS work products by conducting thorough self-perform quality assurance before technical review.

  • Effectively communicate complex GIS concepts and analytical results both orally and in writing to stakeholders and team members.

  • Demonstrate independent critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address GIS-related challenges and provide innovative solutions.

  • Assess and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced office environment, meeting deadlines and project requirements.

  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with GIS users and other team members to facilitate smooth project execution and knowledge sharing.
