Permanent Position: Diesel Mechanic - Heavy equipment (NOC:72401)
Wage Rate: $41 per hour, for 37.50 hours per week
Work Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: 2114 Carpenter St #150, Abbotsford, BC V2T 6L9
Positions Available: 2
Education: High School
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years or A combination of several years of work experience and industry courses in truck or heavy equipment repair
Type of Industry Experience: Trucking
Language: English
Job Duties:
• Running diagnostic tests on vehicles.
• Analyzing diagnostic test results.
• Check all heavy duty equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
• Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems.
• Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
• Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
• Maintaining a parts inventory.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.
Essential Skills: Working with others, Problem solving, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, significant use of memory
