Description:
We seek to add a Health Data Analyst, Lead/Consultant to the Medicare Risk Adjustment team.
The Health Data Analyst provides essential support to all functions within the risk adjustment program, which includes interaction with various cross-functional teams within Blue Shield/Care1st, as well as vendors supporting our member engagement program. The ideal candidate possesses excellent customer service skills, project management skills, organizational skill, and high attention to detail. The ideal candidate will also possess a desire and ability to learn specialized healthcare payment expertise.

Healthcare background, particularly knowledge of the Medicare Market.

The ability to manage projects/timelines to achieve successful outcomes.
This position can be based in the El Segundo or San Francisco office.
Responsibilities:

Lead vendor management efforts around member engagement.

Ability to synthesize different pieces of information, and effectively communicate that information
-
Develops and produces timely and actionable reporting for internal and/or external use.

Knowledgeable about healthcare-related governmental regulations, procedures, and requirements. Continuous learning as additional information is released.

Special Projects as requested.
Qualifications:
Education/Requirements: Requires an MPH, MBA, MS, MA in science, social science, public health, health svcs research or business, or BA/BS with demonstrated equivalent work experience. PhD preferred. Position also requires five to 10 years experience in Health Care (managed care, academic, or gov't payer), demonstrated ability to work with all clinical coding systems (e.g., ICD9, CPT, DRG, LOINC, RxHUB). MS Office, esp. Excel and Access, Unix, SQL/PL-SQL,SAS.Must be able to develop new SAS programs and SQL scripts that improve the efficiency of the work of others. SAS Base and Adv. Certification preferred Minimum Experience Level: Typically has 5 or more years experience as a Health Data Analyst, Medical Economist or related role in a managed care setting.
