We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist located in Pittsburgh, PA
What You’ll Do
Federated Hermes is looking for a Data Scientist that can grow, solve, drive, and create data products to monitor and support the Investment Management function. This role is part of the Advanced Analytics & Business Intelligence team responsible for bringing data science and machine learning to life at Federated Hermes. You will work directly with our Investment Management team to incorporate these capabilities and to support our citizen data scientists in Investment Management as they integrate data science capabilities into their everyday work processes.

This data science opportunity will get to work with some of the latest technologies in the Microsoft Azure Cloud including Databricks, Azure Machine Learning, and Cognitive Services. You will have the opportunity to drive the full data science lifecycle – from strategy to data preparation and algorithm development to communicating the answer in a way a non-data scientist will understand. A proactive, creative, curious mind-set and a desire to influence your own development will go a long way.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) related field or a similar quantitative analytics field, Master’s Degree preferred
• Minimum 2 - 4 years of professional experience with a variety of data products / data science concepts that will complement data transformation, model / algorithm development and productionizing; experience with investment management data science concepts preferred
• Experience with varying database structures and wrangling large datasets
• Professional experience with python and/or other programming languages
• Experience with a variety of data products that will complement model / algorithm development and productionizing (i.e., Panda Libraries, Azure Cognitive APIs, Databricks, Jupyter Notebooks, etc.) is required; experience in Microsoft Azure cloud environment is preferred
• Proficiency with developing data visualization technology and capabilities (i.e., Power BI, Tableau)
**The experience level of the candidate will determine level of position as Data Scientist or Sr. Data Scientist**
