Description:




Job Description



Coordinates all aspects of Blue Shield of California facilities management in the headquarters location for approximately 260,000 square feet of office space, which may include: space planning, moves, repairs and maintenance and capital improvements, security coordination, disaster recovery. Ensures proper functioning of facilities through ongoing inspection and coordination with Landlords and outside vendors.


May coordinate and execute the design and/or implementation of additions or enhancements; lead internal relocation projects; assess and evaluate physical space requirements and make recommendations to meet needs. Frequent interaction with senior executives and business partners to support workplace strategies. Solves problems and develops new approaches for existing problems related to customer requests. Scope and complexity of assignments may vary.


Applies initiative and independent judgment to resolve both routine and non-routine problems. Provides administrative oversight of third-party relationships through use of designated systems, routine monitoring of performance and tracking of services.





Qualifications:




Education/Experience Requirements



Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience of four (4) to seven (7) years experience and thorough experience in facilities services. Facility Management Professional (FMP) certification through IFMA preferred but not required.



Required skills and abilities:





Advanced knowledge of PC's and related software applications, working knowledge of CAFM systems - CAD experience not required but a plus.


Highly skilled interpersonal and verbal/written communications with a diverse audience


Strong project management skills.


Independent, self-starter with excellent organizational and planning skills.
