Description:



The Customer Experience Finance team seeks to add a Lead Financial Analyst who will have the opportunity to assist with the achievement of Blue Shield of California's strategic objectives, which may include Health Care Reform, long-term strategic planning, and benchmarking. In addition, the person in this role will assist in generating and compiling management/executive reports, graphs and presentations, progress reports, or other ad hoc requests.

The Lead Financial Analyst, is an individual contributor role that reports to the Finance Manager.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with management, cross-functional Customer Experience teams, and senior finance personnel to understand strategic initiatives and how they impact the budget.

  • Work with team members to effectively track results and explain variances on initiatives.

  • Enable management to make data driven decisions by providing clear and accurate financial summaries

  • Develop and maintain financial and demand forecasting models; collect and evaluate data, analyze results.

  • Quarterly forecast updates and annual planning; effective communication and presentation of financial plan to senior management, with interpretation of strategic goals and detail needed to support achievement of those goals.

  • Monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, and executive presentation

  • Dashboard maintenance and reporting for key financial performance metrics

  • Proactive identification of business risks and opportunities as well as possible solutions

  • Other miscellaneous financial project modeling, including ROI and NPV analysis, for a variety of projects related to sourcing, automation, and process optimization

  • Assist in generating and compiling management/executive reports, graphs and presentations, progress reports, or other ad hoc requests

  • Support and backup for monthly report consolidation activities and coordination/review of journal entries

  • Support and backup for monthly and year end accrual support; invoice management

  • Annual blanket purchase order administration

  • Strategic project tracking and cost allocation maintenance

  • Additional duties as assigned






Qualifications:




Requirements:


  • Demonstrates specialized depth and/or breadth of financial analysis and strong working knowledge of related disciplines

  • Contributes to the development of new concepts and techniques.

  • Recognized as a technical expert across the company

  • Typically requires 7-10 years financial analysis experience with a Bachelor's degree or 5-8 years or with a Master's degree
