Job Description:
We are searching for a host for our new hour-long lifestyle show. The style of show is segment and interview based, highlighting events and unique story telling in Western New York. Our ideal candidate has a passion for creating content, while engaging with the organizations, businesses, and people of Western New York. Must have a strong on-air presence, confident ad-libbing and interview skills, and ability to work well under tight deadlines. Host will be responsible for shooting and editing interviews and segments for the show. A college degree in broadcasting or related major is preferred with at least 2-3 years’ experience. Familiarity with I-News, and Adobe Premier Editing System is ideal.
Responsibilities
• Interviewing guests/clients both in studio and on location
• Competent in finding, shooting, and editing engaging stories
• Researching show topics and developing questions
• Assisting and working with Account Executives on sales presentations and meetings with clients
• Plan and produce an energetic, informative show through creative ideas, segments, and interviews
• Assist in maintaining and updating social media accounts
Job Requirements:
• Must have strong editorial judgement, research experience, effective communication, compelling and accurate writing, and project management skills
• Experienced with shooting, writing, and editing lifestyle show segments
• Proven experience as host or on-air personality
• Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects
• Must be energetic and positive; and contribute to a productive team environment
• Must be a highly motivated self-starter
• Experience working in I-News and Adobe Premier Editing System
• Bachelor’s Degree in film, television, news or a related field, or equivalent experience
