The manager is responsible for achieving procurement benefits. This position is expected to achieve measurable improvements in cost, quality, customer service, sustainability, and vendor performance.
Job Duties:
Maintaining inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements
Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
Recommending solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase quantity
Recording and assessing all materials quality, movement, and expenditure
Preparing and filing detailed records on procurement activity, quantity, and vendors
Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers
Purchase supplies and materials according to specifications
Ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions
Establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory
Overseeing and supporting subordinates and new employees
Designing and maintaining department budgets
