Job Description:
Job title: Purchasing Agent (NOC 12102)
Job type: Full-time and Permanent
Job location: Alberta, Canada
Salary: $45/h, 30 hours per week
Benefit: 4% Vacation Pay
Duties and responsibilities:
• Researching and comparing supplies, goods and services
• Monitor inventory levels and determining purchase needs
• Assess requirements of an establishment and develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased
• Invite tenders, consult with suppliers and review quotations
• Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts or recommend contract awards
• Establish logistics of delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems
• Maintaining records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts and payments
• Building and maintaining positive, long-term supplier relationship
Job Requirements:
• A college diploma in commerce, business administration or economics or in a related field
• previous experience as a purchasing agent is required
• previous experience in supply chain management is an asset
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skill in English is essential
• Team player
• Able to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to work under pressure
