Pay Grade
• 08 = $52,800 minimum, $68,600 midpoint, $84,400 maximum
• WVU Parkersburg takes experience and related education into consideration when determining salary
• Full time temporary grant funded, benefits eligible, exempt position

Function/Summary
This position provides results-oriented management of activities related to WVUP cosmetology degree program.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in education, business, communications or related field or equivalent education and/or experience

Experience:
• 4 years salon experience

Licensure:
• Diploma from a comprehensive Cosmetology program completed at an accredited post-secondary institution
• Active West Virginia Instructor’s Cosmetology license
• Preferred: advanced haircutting/styling training certification, advanced hair color training certification

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, and take initiative in one’s work
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to demonstrate skills, knowledge, and competence to establish positive relationships
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to problem solve and critically analyze
• Computer skills – Microsoft Office and relational databases
• Ability to understand evaluation and data needs of education programs
• Strong fiscal management skills

Duties/Responsibilities
Frequency: Duties:
35% Program Operations
• Oversees and coordinates daily activities.
• Provides management and support for all aspects of the program.
• First point of contact with State Licensing Board.
• Evaluates program strategies and develops continuous improvement plans.
30% Instruction
• Align curriculum with state regulations and advisory board recommendation with emphasis on basic beginning cosmetology instruction in a salon setting.
• Teach courses as needed (could include day, evening, and weekend instruction).
• Mentor full and part time faculty.
• Remains current in field with updated professional development.
15% Program Development
• Develop and implement plans and objectives for program in an efficient, effective, and innovative fashion.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with other divisions of the college (admission, registrar, advising, financial aid, etc.)
• Establishes and maintains advisory board/sector partner group.
• Develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain students working with marketing and recruitment.
15% Program Administration
• Participates in budget process and oversee daily administration, including scheduling and timely delivery services.
• Prepares reports for the Workforce, Technical and Computer Information Science Dean.
• Prepares grant reports as required.
5% General
• Other duties as assigned.
