Job Description:
Fabricate prosthesis: laminations, draping and pulling sockets, leather work, sewing straps or buckles
Assist the clinician with ongoing patient care per appointment with repairs, servicing of the prosthetic componentry
Assist the clinician with patients on repairs, adjustments, and servicing
Repair, build, and modify prosthetic or orthotic appliances or footwear
Assemble or build prosthetic and orthotic appliances according to drawings, measurements, and plaster casts
Design, build, fit and adjust prosthetic and orthotic appliances
Examine and measure patients to develop working sketches of appliances
Take body or limb measurements of patients
Make and modify plaster casts
Repair and maintain fabrication and laboratory equipment including equipment like the vacuum pumps, grinding machines, bandsaw, drill press, vacuum system for lamination, and commercial oven.
Oversee operations of the back shop including shipping and receiving, and inventory management.
Job Requirements:
Requirements:
- Education: Completion of high school is required
- Experience: A two- to three-year college program in prosthetics and orthotics and one to two years of supervised practical training or Completion of secondary school and up to four years of supervised practical training under a certified prosthetist or orthotist.
-The worker is expected to independently work and complete the fabrication of prosthetics limbs
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Fast-paced environment, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Combination of sitting, standing, walking

Language: English is required
Salary: $24.04 hourly, 40 hours per week. The wage may increase based on performance.
Benefits:
Vision and dental benefits once the worker has passed the probationary period.
Important Information:
Flexibility in schedule is required. The worker is expected to work a full 8-hour day Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Occasionally the worker may end up having to work overtime depending on project success and also if patient appointments last longer than scheduled.
