Job Description:
Wood Manipulation Non Licensed Architect (Delson or Sherman Architects PC, Brooklyn, NY 11201) Working under close supervision of licensed architects on multiple residential and commercial projects from schematic design through construction contract administration; assisting in filing applications for construction with the New York City Department of Buildings and Landmarks Preservation Commission; obtaining city approvals by researching zoning and code requirements, preparing filing documents, and responding to city objections; helping to coordinate project scope with engineers, contractors, and clients; using wood-fabrication techniques to replicate historic details, custom architectural lighting, and decorative wood elements, specializing in historically significant buildings and designated landmark districts of New York City.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution is required. 6 months of experience as an architectural designer, especially in wood manipulation, joinery techniques, knowledge of wood species and appropriate finishes. Special Skills in using rendering, drafting, scripting, and modeling software, V-Ray, Blender, Rhino, Revit, Processing/Java, Grasshopper, Phyton. 40hr/wk. Email Resume jeff@delsonsherman.com
