Description:
The Data Services Technical Lead will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex technology solutions for the enterprise. Responsibilities include interfacing with IT and Business partners to understand and influence requirements and technical solutions, and support of technical solutions built by vendors and BSC resources.
Responsibilities:
- Lead design and development activities on concurrent complex data projects with multi-source, on and offshore teams.
- Provide technical leadership in designing and implementing large scale, complex enterprise applications requiring high performance and availability.
- Be able to synthesize complex data/information, and lead complex technical implementations.
- Ability to matrix manage/organize others with the IT organization in order to get work done quickly.
- Experience in a large, complex organization or corporate structure environment required.
- Consults and makes recommendations to management on significant issues.

Education/Requirements:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Very strong technical skills with at least 8 to 12 years hands-on design, coding, integration and deployment experience in enterprise data applications (i.e. Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, etc.).
- Extensive experience in database management, SQL, ETL, ELT, Shell Scripting.
- Strong knowledge of data, big data management and data warehouse design patterns.
- Good understanding of SOA.
- Strong ability to analyze business requirements and transform into technical design and system solutions.
- Ability to effectively communicate status, design, and approach with management/business sponsors/product managers.
- Familiar with standard software development tools, including incident tracking, documentation, and testing systems.
- Self-directed, works with limited management direction, and exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
- Ability to build strong relationships and drive alignment on difficult topics.
- Experience with iterative development life cycle methodologies and application of those principles, especially agile development practices.
- Demonstrated experience working with vendor partners.
Job Additional Education/Experience
- Experience working with Information Architects, Data Analysts, and DBAs with the ability to interface with multiple support teams from various groups.
- Experienced working with multiple DBMS and database appliances (i.e. Netezza, Oracle etc.), and applying appropriate design techniques and best practices for solution design.
- Experienced providing subject matter expertise on data architectures and data integration implementations.
- Experience to assess the current state and identify opportunities for improvement aligning with current technology trends and strategic plans.
- Experience in understanding requirements, preparing technical solution design documents, process and data flow diagrams.
- Strong technical understanding of data modelling, data mining, data integration, data warehousing and data quality techniques.
- Strong experience with and procedural languages such as SQL for Netezza, Oracle and SQL Server Platforms.
- Working knowledge of Subversion change management and other version control tools preferred.
- Experience in programming languages like Java, Python, R preferred.
- Experience managing development team in terms of end to end technical delivery.
- Proven ability to work with cross functional teams, vendor teams and comfortable with fast-paced delivery development cycles.
- Knowledge in business intelligence and analytical tools like Business Object, Tableau, SAS is preferred.
- Knowledge of IBM InfoSphere MDM, Infogix, and Informatica Data Quality tool is preferred.
