Job Description:
Looking for a chance to do meaningful work that touches millions? Come join the hardest working, nonprofit health plan in California and help us shape the future of health care. Blue Shield of California is focused on transforming health care by making it more accessible, affordable and customer-centric. Being a mission-driven organization means we do much more than serve our 3.5 million members: we were the first health plan in the nation to limit our annual net income to 2 percent of revenue and return the difference to our customers and the community, and since 2005 we have contributed more than million to the Blue Shield of California Foundation to improve community health and end domestic violence. We also believe that a healthier California begins with our employees, so we provide them with resources to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle through our award-winning wellness program, Wellvolution.

We're hiring smart thinkers and doers who want to work for a leader and innovator in the challenging, ever-changing healthcare space. Come and help us make health care better for everyone.

Description:

Opportunity:

We are looking for an Executive Talent Advisor/Recruiter who has a passion and exceptional ability to identify, assess, and attract the best-in-class talent to work in the transformative health care industry. The Executive Talent Advisor plays a critical role in placing top talent who have a significant impact on the business and leads others to continue moving the Blue Shield of California (BSC) mission forward and shape the future of health care. This individual will be a strategic talent partner to senior executives and fully owns, influences, and drives the executive search for senior level roles (Director and up) across the entire organization.

The Executive Talent Advisor is a forward and enterprise thinker who understands the payor/insurance business well and will develop proactive strategies that align with our leadership model and ensure we have the best leaders in place to achieve our mission and business goals. S/he will also focus on cultivating a broad and diverse talent pool for long-term business needs, and develop/drive initiatives and programs to continue building our leadership and employment brand.

What You Will Do:

You will develop and deploy strategic executive recruiting hiring plans on an enterprise-level that closely align with our leadership model, human capital plans and business goals. In strong partnership with HR Business Partners and other colleagues, you will be working closely with executive hiring managers in understanding their specific hiring needs, business objectives, and profile requirements - and translating them into highly effective sourcing, recruiting and closing strategies.

  • Fully own and drive the full lifecycle of the executive search process - from partnering with executive management on position definition, search strategy and candidate requirements, to developing recruiting strategies in hiring best-in-class executive talent and offer/negotiation.
  • Story tell the Blue Shield of CA brand and mission with authenticity and positioning our opportunities strategically within the marketplace and industry to prospective talent who will lead the organization.
  • Leverage best-in-class recruiting practices and strategies to identify/assess, attract, and close on talent.
  • Turn profile requirements into an effective sourcing/recruiting strategy using an appropriate combination of executive search, direct sourcing, personal networking, online postings, referrals, and other best practices.
  • Screen, qualify and interview candidates - provide guidance and critical insights through the process.
  • Develop innovative ways to raise the bar on how BSC recruits leadership talent.
  • Build out talent networks and perform market research and tap knowledgeable industry sources to develop an on-going pool of candidates.
  • Serve as a senior talent advisor and partner to Executive hiring managers and other members of the HR community to determine the current and future executive talent needs.
  • Collaborate closely with HRBPs and Total Rewards on streamlining processes and operational efficiencies.
