Job Description:
Faith Fellowship Baptist Church is located at 2551 E 49th Ave., Vancouver BC V5S 1J6. We are currently looking for a permanent, full time Choir Director. If you are interested, please submit your resume by e-mail.
Position: Choir Director
Wage: CAD$30.00/hour
Types: Full-time, Permanent
Working hours: 32 hours/week
Benefits: 10 days paid vacation per year or 4 % of vacation pay
Job Duties:
• Direct, lead, and oversee the multi-cultural music worship team;
• Conduct rehearsals to ensure the choir is prepared for upcoming performances;
• Prepare a score or set of lyrics for songs performed by the choir and assign individual parts to specific singers or groups of singers;
• Select music for each service based on the liturgical calendar and special occasions;
• Ensure the choirs are properly equipped with musical instruments and accessories;
• Train staff, including organists, pianists, vocal coaches and other musician;
• Work with children and youth outreach through worship;
• Offer music lessons to team members;
• Purchase and maintain instruments;
• Oversee choir budget and report to senior pastor;
• Oversee quarterly worship leader meetings.
Job Requirements:
• A university degree in music;
• 1-2 years of experience leading music in church;
• A period of specialized study related to conducting, composing or arranging asset.
