Position: Junior Interior Designer
NOC: 5242, Skill Level B
Employment type: full-time, 40 hrs/week

Job Duties:
• Working with clients to determine their needs and requirements, whilst also creating safe space and functionality
• Creating 3D models in SketchUp to visualize interior walls, dividers and architectural structure, as well as detailing materiality, furniture and lighting.
• Develop detailed documentation packages including floor plans, ceiling plans, elevations and cross sections using software such as AutoCad.
• Advise on selecting specifications such as, colors, lighting, finishes and materials, floor and wall coverings, plumbing, appliances and fixtures, based functionality and project requirements, as well as occupational health standards.
• Estimating project costs and selecting materiality specifications that work within the project scope and budget.
• Prepare final interior design plans and specifications in accordance with current practices and codes.
• May work with project managers, and visiting sites to oversee progress, whilst directing contractors and crew when necessary.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• A university degree or college diploma in interior design is required.
• 1-2 years of related work experience is required
• Excellent English communication skills required, as well as effective interpersonal skills.
• A strong work ethic with accuracy and precise attention to detail, be able to distinguish between colors
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast paced, team driven environment
• A flexible yet organized individual who takes initiatives and understands the importance of client focus.
