Draftsman:

General Scope of Responsibilities:


To create detail shop drawings from designs passed down from Product Designers.


Specific Responsibilities:


Create clear, accurate and easy to understand detail shop drawings in accordance with engineering guidelines and manufacturing best practices



  • Responsible to check their own drawings for errors before passing them back to Designer.

  • Consult production designers and shop personnel on best practices for building our products

  • Works within department guidelines in a safe manner.

  • Process engineering document changes and updates as necessary.

  • Maintain Master Schedule for Engineering and Production

  • Provide Part Numbers for Customer Service to department standards

  • Assist in developing and maintaining standard details, drawings, instruction manuals.

  • Prepare and distribute project schedules.

  • Assist in assembling Operation and Maintenance Manuals and "As-built" drawings

  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.



Position Requirements:



  • Two year degree from college or technical school or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical reference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratio and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Good AutoDesk Inventor skills are essential

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal

  • Good computer ability (standard Windows based programs)

  • Professional image

  • Self-starter
