Senior Fraud Specialist Job

Under general supervision, perform duties necessary for the detection and investigation of incidents of theft and fraud, preparing investigation reports and responding to members’ and staff inquiries.  Complies with UNFCU policies and procedures; and performs related duties as assigned

• Responsible for identifying and investigating incidents of alleged theft, fraud and suspicious activity.
• Gather all available information and make sound and effective decisions to minimize UNFCU’s fraud losses and make recommendations to strengthen internal controls.
• Prepare and submit reports detailing summaries of fraud investigations and external reports as required by regulation or insurance.
• Maintain knowledge of current fraud methods and prevention techniques.
• Communicate with members and educate them on how they can better protect themselves against fraud.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with other business units to promote awareness of current fraud trends and patterns.

• High School diploma and 4 years experience in the financial services industry. Prior experience conducting research and/or investigations is preferred.
• Proficiency in applicable PC/Software skills
• Advanced research and investigation skills
• Experience in direct customer service
