Job Description:
Job Position: Architectural Draftsperson
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hourly Wage：$30-$35
Work Hour: 37.5 hours/week
Work Location: 200-223 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC, Canada V5Y 1P5
Language Requirement: English
Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare architectural designs and drawings using AutoCAD, REVIT, Sketch Up and other software from preliminary concepts, sketches and specifications
- Create 3-dimensional BIM models for use by various departments and teams, and utilize the models to analyze potential design solutions for building services clashes
- Check the completeness and accuracy of design drawings and make sure they adhere to specifications and design data
- Organize the drawing bundles, present them to the constructions teams and provide detailed explanations
- Determine quality, cost and quantity of required materials and prepare material lists for construction projects
- Prepare contracts and coordinate development permits and building permits for new constructions
- Collaborate with architects and construction engineers to ensure adherence to building specifications and industry regulations
- Acquire information needed to finish architectural drawings, visiting job sites when necessary to gather measurements
- Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Completion of post-secondary study in drafting, architecture or a related field
- Work experience in drafting in a construction-related area is an asset
- Understanding of engineering and construction principals
- Experience working with AutoCAD is required
- Experience working with REVIT or other relevant software
- Experience in building information modelling
- Ability to create preliminary designs or conceptualization of design
- Ability to create presentation drawings with perspectives
- Detail-oriented, accurate, organized and disciplined in your delivery
- Strong task prioritization, multi-tasking and time management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
