Job Description:
 The Staff Accountant contributes to the success of the Firm through ensuring that all Firm invoices have proper general ledger and location codes prior to entry into the accounting system. The Staff accountant will ensure the timely payment of invoices, confirming validity of the charge and making sure proper approval is obtained.
Job Duties:
- Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation
- Assist the Controller in producing accurate and timely financial statements and budgets for multiple locations, divisions, and departments, including accruals and journal entries
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations
- Reconcile daily sales reports for all locations
- Assist with Accounts Receivable, including entering customer payments daily
- File monthly and quarterly sales tax reports to multiple states
- Assist with system controls to ensure data integrity
- Assist in the preparation for the annual audit
- Backup for payroll processing for all locations
- Support most aspects of accounting management
- Assist with other duties in the accounting department, as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.)
- Proven experience as staff accountant or other similar position
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting
- Working knowledge of MS Office, advanced excel knowledge is required
- Well organized with ability to prioritize
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and with co-workers in a fast-paced and high-volume work environment
- Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to quality and timelines
- Self-starter with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Ability to be flexible and change with environment and demands
- Efficient in communicating both orally and in writing with all levels of staff, customers, and vendors in a professional manner
