CFO SUMMARY


Chief Financial Officer will be a senior leadership team member responsible for assisting the CEO in the successful growth of the organization. The CFO must have biotech experience as experience in corporate finance and corporate development. The CFO has worked within a large multinational organization and worked to take a start-up public.


CFO JOB DESCRIPTION



  • Advise CEO on business development and strategic planning.

  • Company liaison to investors, auditors and other financial institutions.

  • Assist in raising capital to meet sales, growth and market share objectives.

  • Ensures accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting to CEO, board and leadership team.

  • Managing all short and long-term strategic financial objectives of the company, supporting the executive team with vital financial information and operational analytics, and driving a culture of accountability in managing the business.

  • Ensures maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures for the company.

  • Ensures GAAP, legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.


CFO JOB SPECIFICATIONS



  • A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting. MBA a plus

  • Certified public accountant designation (CPA) preferred

  • At least 15 years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles

  • Biotech, Life Science, or Drug Development industry experience required

  • Must have public company experience

  • IPO experience strongly preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Experience and knowledge of early-stage medical devices.

  • Knowledge of corporate development and license arrangements.

  • IPO pre and post transaction experience.

  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to practice discretion and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.

  • Dependable, self-motivated, reliable and conscientious.
